Leon Goretzka shouldn’t be missing any time after injuring his middle finger on his right hand during a friendly against Manchester United.
Talking to Bild, Goretzka revealed he is making good progress on his injury:
Leon Goretzka explains the injury to his right hand from the friendly match against Manchester United: “I broke a joint in my middle finger. But I’m out of the cast now, wear it only a few days more. Everything’s fine; the splint just bothers me a bit.”
The midfielder suffered from his injury in the second half of the game after coming on for Franck Ribery.
In subsequent training sessions, Goretzka was able to participate with the team while wearing a cast on his hand, with his only set back being an inability to tie his shoes. Luckily, Joshua Kimmich was able to come to the rescue.

Goretzka’s injury resulted in no setbacks, as the midfielder came on in the 64th minute of the DFL-Supercup and even started today’s friendly against Hamburger SV.
In short, Bayern fans have nothing to worry about and the 23 year old should still be available for selection for Sunday’s Pokal match against SV Drochtersen/Assel.
