Bayern Munich left back David Alaba was substituted late in the second half after a challenge in the 75th minute by Eintracht Frankfurt defender Danny da Costa. Alaba had to be escorted off the field by two physios after an apparent injury to his left knee.

Alaba was clearly in pain after the tackle and was only able to put a slight amount of weight on the leg when heading to the tunnel.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić was visibly upset on the sidelines as the game got quite chippy after Bayern took a 4-0 lead in their eventual 5-0 victory.

Before the tackle on Alaba the two sides had to be separated after a swinging elbow by Frankfurt captain David Abraham on Robert Lewandowski earned him a yellow card which was arguably a red.

By the end, Bayern was just waiting for the final whistle as the game was decided. Hopefully, for the case of David Alaba, it did not come too late.
