Alas, Bayern Munich’s third kit has finally been leaked, and we now have a complete look at the entire range of tops for the upcoming season. For the third kit, prepare yourselves for a brief trip down memory lane (kind of), as the new third kit bares some similarities to Bayern’s away kit from the 2016/2017 season (minus the bold black and orange shoulder stripes).
Have a look (via Footy Headlines):
Consistent with Bayern’s training kit that was just leaked, the third kit is a continuation of Adidas's partnership with Parley where the jersey’s are made from recycled material from the world’s oceans. In this new kit, the blue/grey color looks a lot like the grey pattern that was on the upper portion of Bayern’s away kits for the 2016/2017 season, which brings back fond memories of absolutely thrashing Arsenal 5-1 at the Emirates in the Champions League.
Instead of a solid base color, though, this kit features subtle, contrasting, pixelated-type pattern throughout the front, back, and sleeves of the kit. Additionally, there’s a white stripe pattern that runs the length of the jersey on either side, below the sleeves; it’s more visible in the first picture above (on the left). The collar is also a shade of gray that’s darker than the base of the kit; it mimics the darker of the two shades in pixelated pattern throughout the jersey; a unique, sleek method of matching from Adidas.
Although this kit does follow the exact same design and pattern scheme as Real Madrid and Manchester United’s new third kits, this is still [more than likely] going to be better recieved than Bayern’s widely disliked mint green away kits. Thankfully, too, for this new third kit, the team badge is in traditional colors, as opposed to the monochromatic badges that are on the away kit and the new training tops - most people really don’t like the monochromatic badges.
So what say you; is this jersey awesome, bearable, hideous, or something in between?
What do you think of the new, Champions League third kit?
