Bayern Munich announced the signing of Adrian Fein to a professional contract following his successful stint at Bayern Munich II. The 19-year-old, billed as being 1.87m in height, has been with the club’s youth team since July 2017 and has impressed the senior figures to the point that they feel comfortable with offering a contract.
Fein is a central midfielder, who can also play in a deeper position or in center-back, has proven to be a versatile and useful contributor. SportBild published a scouting report on the youngster two years ago, where they reveal several interesting tidbits regarding his past as well as offering up an evaluation of the player’s strengths & weaknesses.
They claim that he’s constantly pulling the strings from midfield, with his sharp vision allowing him to find a player on their stronger foot. Fein is also described as being “very long and robust”, while also containing a strong drive. Ask any modern central midfielder, and surely the majority would agree that these skills tick the boxes with regards to the qualities needed to prosper at the top level.
In terms of weaknesses, SportBild pointed out that Fein has a “lack of awareness in terms of making unchecked runs into the opposition’s box” while also “struggling to beat his man in a one-on-one battle when attempting to dribble.”
Fein was a part of Bayern’s senior team preseason preparations in 2017, and with a new contract having just been signed, you can expect to see more of him during these summer months. For a player that has been with Munich since he was eight years old, he has come a long way. However, receiving that first professional contract is just the start of what could be a special career.
Here’s hoping.
