It’s now been four weeks since Germany crashed out of the World Cup in the group stages by losing 2-0 to South Korea in their final match. It will certainly take quite some time for the entire country to get over the disappointment, but it’s now back to business for Bayern Munich’s Germany contingent after their holidays.
Per Bild,Thomas Muller, Leon Gortezka, Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Süle, Jerome Boateng, Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels and Sebastian Rudy all reported back to Säbener Strasse Wednesday afternoon to be put through the paces in their first official training session since returning from Russia. Robert Lewandowski was also in attendance after his extended holiday having played in all three group stage matches for Poland.
After a brief warm-up in the weight room, weigh-ins, and some brief testing, the players hopped on bikes for a ride to the Perlacher Forest. Once they got to the Perlacher Forest, they went for a two-lap run around some of the trails; each lap was roughly 3 kilometers (roughly 1.86 miles) in distance. Most of Bayern’s World Cup stars still kept busy with at least some type of training while they were on holiday, but the intensity will pick up quickly from now until their first competitive match in the DFL Supercup vs Eintracht Frankfurt on August 12th.
Arturo Vidal and Lars Lukas Mai were also spotted at Säbener Strasse doing some ball work in the blistering heat:

As far as the rest of Bayern’s players who were at the World Cup, both Thiago Alcantara and James Rodriguez are set to linkup with the rest of the squad this weekend in Miami ahead of the Manchester City friendly. World Cup winner Corentin Tolisso won’t be with the squad until after the DFL Supercup final; four weeks after France lifted the World Cup title.
