United’s Anthony Martial to Bayern: a strong possibility

Bayern Munich is the most likely destination for Anthony Martial as Manchester United seeks a new club for the attacker.

After the transfer of Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich to Manchester United in 2015, it seems that the German champions are willing to shake hands with the Red Devils again in the near future. Die Roten's new target is United's French forward Anthony Martial, who had a rough season under Jose Mourinho — he was only a substitute in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Just like any young, bright player who isn’t receiving much playing time, Martial is pondering a move out of the club, and Mourinho is working on fulfilling the player's wish to leave.

According to The Times (via Sport Bild), the coach is not willing to let Martial sign with another Premier League club. The report suggests that Bayern Munich is the most likely target for the United star. But United would not let the Frenchman go without demanding a minimum of €67 million. Martial is under contract until 2019.

If that price seems too steep for Bayern to consider, United are potentially interested in a swap deal for Arturo Vidal or Jerome Boateng. Boateng's recent link with Thomas Tuchel and PSG may, however, leave Die Roten with only a single realistic option to consider.

Anthony Martial would be a great addition to the Bavarians. Just as with James Rodriguez and Real Madrid, Bayern may be the best choice for him after a dreadful season at Manchester United.
