Aside from Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in their opening match of the International Champions Cup Saturday, Die Roten has continued battling with MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps regarding the signature of left winger Alphonso Davies. And they’e been thrown for a loop.

At first, it seemed to be imminent that Davies would sign sooner than later for FC Bayern. That was before the stalemate that ensued just a day later. A deal is still in the balance but the Whitecaps have responded with an increase in their price for Davies, demanding a $6 million transfer bonus fee, according to SportBild’s Christian Falk.

In the grand scheme of things, the time is now for Bayern Munich to steal Davies away. As The Athletic reported, a work visa for the United Kingdom is a small possibility, likely eliminating the option of a potential move to the English Premier League.

Fans of the German Giant can only imagine the recharging group of wingers that includes Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and perhaps Davies. He wasn’t selected as an MLS All-Star for nothing.
