German-American talent Timothy Tillman will take the next step forward in his career with his hometown club, 1. FC Nürnberg: Tillman, now 19, will spend the coming season in the Bundesliga with the newly promoted Franconian club.

Tillman’s loan comes after a strong season with Bayern II: in 31 matches, Tillman contributed six goals and seven assists in the Regionalliga. He will now have the chance to shine on Germany’s biggest stage, since Nürnberg won promotion from the 2. Liga to the top flight.

Tillman said, “As a Franconian, I know the great history of this club; now I hope that I can do my part in a successful year.” Nürnberg’s sporting director, Andreas Bornemann stated, “He is a very elegant player, outstandingly trained in technical terms, and provided with excellent vision.”

“It will be an exciting project with him,” says [FC Nürnberg coach] Michael Köllner about new signing Timothy Tillman.
