At a press conference this morning, Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovač commented on the rumors swirling around James Rodriguez and whether he may or may not be looking to leave Germany.
As captured by ESPN’s Mark Lovell, Kovač acknowledged that there has been a lot written on James, but Bayern is keeping the Colombian; at least as of today.

"We have him on a current loan deal which is still valid. It will end, either in this direction if we say, ok, we will not take up the option, or we do." https://t.co/6hU2qAlfWi
Kovac on James. "At the moment, it clearly looks like he is staying here. I don't know anything new, I know that a lot is being written."

As always, a person who has handled the media as much as Kovač made sure he had the caveat of “at the moment” just in case there was a sudden change of plans.
It is hard to say if this is the kind of statement that would officially close the door on the James transfer saga, but it at least helps to know that “at the moment” Bayern is planning on James being part of the club this season.
It will be interesting to see how the Spanish media responds to this news.
Stay tuned!
