Cristiano Ronaldo, world superstar and often bitter Champions League rival of Bayern Munich, has made the move from Real Madrid to Serie A power Juventus. Details of the transfer fee and contract were provided by Juventus.com:
Juventus Football Club announces that it has reached an agreement with the company Real Madrid Club De Fùtbol SpA for the definitive acquisition of the right to the sports performance of the player Dos Santos Aveiro Cristiano Ronaldo against a fee € 100 million, payable in two years, plus the solidarity contribution provided for by the FIFA regulations and accessory charges for € 12 million.
Juventus signed a four-year sports performance contract with the same player until June 30, 2022.
The move certainly sends shock waves through the world’s club powers and should have a direct effect on the pool of contenders for next season. Always a capable competitor in the Champions League, Juventus last won the competition in 1996, with runner-up finishes in 2015 and 2017.
At least one odds maker has already chimed in with an update for the Champions League and Juventus is still only sixth on the list of favorites at +800 despite the acquisition of CR7.

The addition of the 33-year old Ronaldo to the current roster is also sure to trigger some further movement. The players who may be most likely to transfer out are Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain, who could likely ease some of the financial stress off adding a high-priced target like Ronaldo.
