Quotes following Germany's Exit

So, following the loss vs South Korea, I have been trolling the interwebs and twitter looking for quotes and reactions from players and staff regarding the loss and all that happened.

I was looking at the several articles that have been posted since then and I couldn't decide where to share them so I thought that maybe it would be a good idea to have one spot where we could share what we find and reference back to it in the coming days as more and more information surely comes out.

I don't have all the links for all the quotes as I was looking on twitter on my phone but I am writing this from a desktop computer. Please share whatever you find. Hope this is alright to post.

The Captain, Manuel Neuer:

We weren't convincing in any of the games, where we could say 'that was the German national team.' That is bitter and miserable.

As a captain, I always tried to take responsibility. I tried to carry the whole team and motivate every player in the dressing room, in training and on the pitch. But of course I'm one of the team and I'm partly to blame.

I mean we were 1-0 down after 96 minutes. We still thought there was a glimmer of hope. I actually wanted to bring in the cross. I have to own up to the mistake.

International retirement? No. I have no intention to stop.

We let ourselves down in all three games. Why? I just don't know. But we need to take responsibility for it. We screwed up. We all screwed it up.

We didn't perform like Germany should in any one of our three games. When you beat Sweden 2-1 in the 95th minute and lose your other two games without really creating any chances, then you don't deserve to go through.

I wish you could see the twitter picture posted with that quote. It really is heartbreaking. The quote is from DW Sports.

The Manager, Jogi Loew: (don't know the special keys on the keyboard)

We all lost, all of German football. Not only one game, but also much of what we built in the last few years.

The responsibility is mine, absolutely... It's too early for me to answer that question (in regards to if he'll stay)

He [Oezil] wasn't the only player [who performed poorly]. Other players haven't shown what they can do. I ass the full responsibility.

I'm the coach therefore I'm fully responsible for what happened and must question myself. My future? There will be talks. It will take some time and then we will figure out a decision.

Mats Hummels:

Our last outstanding performance was in the fall of 2017. This is a very, very bitter evening

It's difficult to find words. We believed until the end and we had many chances. We had to risk it all in the end.

In addition, about an hour after the game, Hummels tweeted a short sweet with a sad face and the word "sorry"

Julian Draxler:

I think Joachim Loew is still the right coach for us.

Oliver Bierhoff:

Everyone is deeply disappointed. It's not the time for any analysis. Joachim Loew has just signed a new contract. I assume that he will stay and we will attack the next challenges again

Paul Breitner:

(In regards to Toni Kroos) I'll be more than happy to go without his 15,000 passes. Many players in the Bundesliga can do that. Not once did he try to open up the space in central midfield or try to open up the opposition defense with a simple run or dribble. I wouldn't mind going without 99% of the precision of his passing

I disagree with that analysis, but to each their own.

They didn't have a plan. The defence was practically non-existent in all three games and in midfield they were only able to come up with pretty passes. This is a catastrophe for German football.

Joachim Loew is the one who has to say: my contract is until 2022 and I'm capable of driving this team forward again. It's a decision he should take, not the German Football Federation.

If anyone sees anything left, let me know and I'll add it.
