World Cup Gamethread: England vs Tunisia

Let’s see if Tunisia can bite the English as hard as the swarm of Mosquitoes that has descended on Volgograd.

Sweden vs South Korea - Group F

Mexico’s 1-0 win over Germany on Sunday was bad news for both Sweden and South Korea. Both had to have been hoping for a Mexico self-destruction for them to be targeting a trip to the knockout rounds of the tournament. Now, both teams still have to play an angry Germany and what appears to be a high flying Mexico. If either squad here hopes to play more than three games in Russia, they must get a win here.

Belgium vs Panama - Group G

There’s a lot of pressure resting on the shoulders of Roberto Martinez and Belgium. They’ve been the team on the cusp of breaking out for the last few major tournaments, and once again, the talent is there for them to compete with anyone. If Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Dries Mertens, and Eden Hazard can’t combine for a few goals against Panama, they may not be as good as we think they are.

Tunisia vs England - Group G

This is the first World Cup that I can remember where England weren’t being talked about as the second coming of the greatest team ever by their own media. Right? It feels that way. This team has somehow flew under the radar completely, and it’s almost impossible for them to be worse than they were four years ago in Brazil. Look, let’s not beat around the bush here. Harry Kane is great. If he’s scoring goals, a quarterfinals run is on the cards.

  1. If you’re a new member, feel free to introduce yourself. We’re mostly very friendly. Also, we’re from all parts of the world, so don’t feel shy if you’re from a country that doesn’t seem represented on the blog.
  2. Refresh the page regularly to keep up with the discussion. One refresh every 55-60 seconds is ideal but if that’s too much then just try for one every five minutes and after every goal.
  3. The goal celebrations are for everyone to participate in. Even if you’re lagging behind the others, keep replying to the most recent call of the player’s name. Even if you missed the first call, just start from the second, and so on.
