James Rodriguez indicates he wants a return to Bayern Munich

The Colombian international feels at home in Munich and is looking to extend his stay.

Per a report in Kicker, James Rodriguez would like to remain with Bayern Munich when his loan assignment ends. Rodriguez admitted that he was not sure what to expect when he initially learned of his loan to Die Roten, but has been surprised by the quality of play in the Bundesliga.

I’m doing very well, it’s a good league in Germany and the stadiums are full. I arrived with a different perception. I am fine, I hope I stay here, I feel very well.

Rodriguez has found a niche in Munich with his play-making skills and has seemingly formed a strong bond with his offensive mates on the pitch. With no urgent need to dive deep into his contract status, it can be assumed that the 26-year-old may use next season to gauge how he fits into the plans of new Bayern manager Niko Kovač before making a final decision.

Bayern has the option to purchase Rodriguez for €42 million from Real Madrid in 2019.
