SZ: Zahavi’s claims not cleared with Lewandowski

According to a new report from the Bavarian capital, Robert Lewandowski is much less set on a transfer than the recent statements of his agent Pini Zahavi imply.

The latest twist in the Robert Lewandowski saga has arrived. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Pini Zahavi's recent claims that Robert Lewandowski wants a “new challenge” with a new club were not in fact cleared with the striker himself before Zahavi went public. If SZ is to be believed, Lewandowski is not as dead-set on a transfer as Zahavi's claims imply.

Lewandowski is apparently far less determined to leave Bayern Munich than his agent implied. Echoing Karl-Heinz Rummenigge himself, SZ state that Lewandowski “knows what he has at Bayern Munich. He still allegedly is dreaming of transferring to Real Madrid, but knows that such a transfer is highly implausible. Recent rumors allege that Real's management will not cooperate with Pini Zahavi, who delivered Neymar to Paris rather than Madrid.

Allowing all that, however, Lewandowski also knows that anything is possible on the current, wildly inflating transfer market. In the meantime, Lewandowski will continue to focus on the World Cup , and the wheels in the background will keep on turning.
