The Robert Lewandowski transfer saga rolls on and on. With Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United all interested in the Bayern Munich star, Sport Bild’s Tobias Altschaffl and Christian Falk report that the striker’s agent is orchestrating a player swap to make the transfer more palatable to the Bayern bosses.
Bayern Munich’s board have already declared Lewandowski “not for sale”, but that hasn’t deterred Zahavi. Despite both Karl-Heinz Rumenigge and Uli Hoeness stating otherwise, Pini Zahavi hopes to secure a player+cash swap deal for his client. Chief amongst the candidates for such a transfer would be Edinson Cavani, PSG’s 31 year old Uruguayan forward.
Cavani’s issues with his teammate Neymar have been well documented over the course of last season, and with possible Financial Fair Play difficulties looming overhead, PSG could agree to a swap deal as a transfer. Besides this, both Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku could be on table, as well as Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata.
Could the promise of getting a replacement+cash entice Bayern into selling? It remains to be seen. Until then, the speculation surrounding this saga will continue unabated.
