Bayern Munich’s response to Robert Lewandowski and Pini Zahavi (SportBild)

We hit the Robert Lewandowski drama last night with two pieces and there will be plenty more coverage on that front today, as well as over the coming weeks until there is a resolution. Christian Falk of SportBild, tweeted the club’s official response this morning:

For what it’s worth, if Pini Zahavi really is looking to work out a deal involving another player and cash; my choices would be Eden Hazard (highly unlikely) or Olivier Giroud (more realistic) from Chelsea or Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain. As for Manchester United, I really don’t want any of their poisoned roster...like, NO ONE is happy there and any of them would seemingly be less happy to have to move to Munich. If I had to take one player, maybe Anthony Martial (I guess), who is in the last year of his contract. If taking Martial, I would need more cash back for sure. If Real Madrid gets back into the mix, give me Gareth Bale. Either way, stay tuned to Bavarian Football Works for more coverage!

Speaking of Manchester United, Diogo Dalot may be headed to the Red Devils (BBC Sport)

Diogo Dalot, once considered a transfer target for Bayern, looks like he is closing in on a deal with Manchester United.

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Porto’s teenage defender Diogo Dalot. Dalot, 19, has a release clause of £17.4m but United are not thought to have activated it yet. Manager Jose Mourinho believes the Portugal Under-21 international right-back can provide competition for United captain Antonio Valencia. Contact between the clubs has been made and it seems only a matter of time before the deal is completed.

Dalot would have been buried behind Joshua Kimmich on the depth chart in Munich and would have a better chance of unseating Valencia as opposed to Kimmich for sure.

Just saying the name Diogo Dalot is kind of fun for what it’s worth. Please enjoy it Man U fans!
