Bayern Munich may not have reached the final of this season's Champions League competition, but the club's impressive effort will be handsomely rewarded. As reported by Bild, Bayern Munich will collect €40.2 million in prize money alone from their Champions League success. Bayern could have won yet another €11 million by reaching the final, and even €15 million by winning it.

In addition to the club's winnings in prize money, Bayern will also receive a share from the general UEFA market pool of approximately €30 million. And on top of that comes the income from the six sold-out home games that Bayern played along the way.

All told, Bayern will earn approximately €70 million from this season's campaign.

That money will go a long way toward Bayern’s summer transfer window plans, as the club weighs its options amid a torrent of rumors surrounding stars such as Robert Lewandowski, Jerome Boateng, Arturo Vidal, and potential transfer targets.
