Bayern Munich forward Nicole Rolser has extended her contract with the Frauen through the 2019-2020 season. Rolser, who has been with the Frauen since 2015, has evolved into a key contributor in the lineup. For the season, Rolser has six goals in 18 appearances for head coach Thomas Wörle.

Rolser’s return will ensure there is some stability within the Frauen roster.

The 26-year-old came to Bayern from the Liverpool Ladies, where she played from 2013 through 2015, and won two league titles. Rolser was also a fixture on the national youth teams for Germany for the U-15 through U-20 age groups.

The signing represents stability for both the team and for Rolser. As the Frauen head into the final week of the season, a Champions League berth is on the line. The Bayern Frauen have put themselves in a very advantageous position with just one game remaining.

To miss out on the Champions League, the Frauen would have to lose next week against Frankfurt and SC Freiburg would have to win over SGS Essen, while also making up an 11-goal differential.

Rolser indicated that she is proud to be a part of the Bayern Frauen and is looking forward to helping the team hunt down championships over the remaining years of her contract.

I feel very well in the team and in Munich. We have top conditions with the FC Bayern Campus and I’m proud to be part of this team. We have a high quality in the team in all positions. I am sure that we will be able to achieve a great deal with this team and to be able to win even more titles in the next few years.

Rolser started her professional career in 2009–10 at second division VfL Sindelfingen. In her first season she appeared in 21 league matches and scored one goal. The following season, Rolser moved to SC 07 Bad Neuenahr in the Women’s Bundesliga, where she became a regular player and scored ten goals in 21 league games.

Karin Danner, the Frauen manager, is excited to have Rolser with the club longer as a veteran presence, who is capable of impacting games with her scoring touch and experience.

Nicole has developed enormously since joining us. Especially in the last few months, she has significantly improved her performance through determination and final strength in front of the goal. Nicole plays a great second half at a consistently high level. We are very pleased that she will now go for at least Bayern until 2020 for goal hunting.
