Sebastian Rudy shuts down transfer rumors

Sebastian Rudy has no intention of leaving Bayern Munich.

Sebastian Rudy could not have been blunter. Responding to recent reports that both Schalke 04 and VfB Stuttgart were interested in acquiring the regista, Rudy told Kicker that the topic is not even up for discussion:

I would not like to go away from here. A transfer is not up for debate.

Rudy had already shot down reports of a move to Stuttgart a month ago. The latest rebuttal comes on the tails of a Bild report that Schalke had contacted Rudy about a potential loan, since the Royal Blues are about to lose both offensive midfielder Leon Goretzka to Bayern and central midfielder Max Meyer on free transfers. Rudy would be an ideal replacement for Meyer.

Although Rudy enjoyed several starts under Carlo Ancelotti, he was confined to the bench under Jupp Heynckes and left out of the squad altogether eight times. But a new season may bring new luck, and Sebastian Rudy, like his teammates Sandro Wagner and Niklas Süle, seems happy to be at Bayern and willing to be a team player.
