Half a month and more has passed since Bayern Munich offered veteran winger Arjen Robben a one-year contract extension. In contrast to his teammate Franck Ribery, however, who signed his own extension just days ago, Robben still is in no hurry to make his final decision.

Despite the uncertainty over Robben, the club is remaining patient. Speaking to Kicker at an event at the Bavarian state chancellery, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said,

We are handling it in a relaxed way; we know Robben. He’s a proud Dutchman; you have to have patience. We do.

Along with Rafinha, who will also probably sign an extension, Robben is one of the remaining loose ends on the roster that remain to be tied. Until he signs, it remains possible that he might suddenly leave the club.

Beyond the contracts of current players, Bayern’s front office is also exploring the transfer market for summer moves. Rummenigge explicitly stated, “I won’t rule out that we might also have a few newcomers.”
