Bayern Munich U19 center forward Manuel Wintzheimer will take his talents to Hamburg in hopes of securing a roster spot on the first team. Wintzheimer’s interest in Hamburger SV was first reported on April 9th and less than a month later, the deal has been completed.

Hamburger SV’s squad planner Johannes Spors told the 4-4-2.com that Der Dinosaur was excited to bring in a talent like Wintzheimer.

We are glad that Manuel decided with full conviction for the HSV. He is a player who has a real strength with his ability to score with both feet and he has also convinced us because of his personality.

Wintzheimer seems ready for a new challenge and greater opportunity to establish himself as a professional.

The talks were very good and I am grateful that I was allowed to sign my first professional contract. The club, the stadium and the fans - I’m really looking forward to all that.

Hamburg officially welcomed Wintzheimer on their Twitter account earlier today as well.

This could help open the door for Jann-Fiete Arp to join Bayern as has been widely speculated over the past two months.
