It’s happened again! Right before Bayern Munich face Real Madrid in one of the biggest games of the season, they’ve lost another player. Last year, it was Robert Lewandowski and Mats Hummels. This time, it’s Arturo Vidal.
We don’t actually know what’s happened to Vidal. According to BILD, the player twisted his right knee during training and had to be taken back to the locker room. A diagnosis is still pending. The club confirmed the injury via twitter:
Arturo Vidal was forced to leave training early today after feeling a pain in his knee. A full diagnosis will be made on Monday.

Vidal is one of Jupp Heynckes’ main players, and losing him for the semi-finals would be a huge blow for the Bavarians. The Chilean had actually just returned from a previous knee injury, with this being his first training session in a while. While Bayern Munich have a plethora of midfielders on the roster — certainly enough to take on Bayer Leverkusen in midweek — the potential absence of Vidal against Real Madrid could be a huge blow to the Bavarians’ Champions League hopes.
We all wish Vidal a speedy recovery.
