According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Bayern Munich want to purchase Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Omar Mascarell. As a former Real Madrid player, Mascarell has a buy-back clause of four million Euros in his contract, so Bayern will need to negotiate with the Spanish giants in order to secure his services.
Mascarell has been a key player in Niko Kovac’s Frankfurt side this year, and it’s understandable if the Croat wants to bring him to Munich. However, Bayern already have a plethora of midfielders on the squad, with Leon Goretzka to join from Schalke on a free transfer over the summer. Therefore, someone may have to be let go, to allow the Spaniard to have a chance of breaking into the lineup.
As for negotiating with Real Madrid, it’s likely that Bayern’s management could work something out, as the Bavarians have a very good working relationship with Florentino Perez. Real hardly have any need for midfielders either, what with the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro, and Ceballos in their squad.
Stay tuned to see how this story develops.
