In an interview with Kate Abdo of Fox Sports, which will air on Saturday’s Bundesliga broadcast coverage, Bayern Munich alumni Bastian Schweinsteiger made his feelings known on who would be his choice to take over for Jupp Heynckes at season’s end.
I was asking this question before. I personally have one favorite. If you think about a coach who has experience also in the Champions League and who is also a German, then for me, there is one name, Thomas Tuchel. He is my personal favorite. I like how he was coaching Borussia Dortmund. And I also like when he was the coach in Mainz ‘05. So he is my personal favorite.
Schweinsteiger, whose Chicago Fire side opens its season on Saturday at 6PM against Sporting KC, will actually get the chance to play for and against whoever is named the next manager at Bayern during his tribute match in Munich on August 28th.
