According to Christian Falk, Bayern Munich will announce the manager for the next season in the next three to four weeks. That is huge, because Falk has been one of the most reliable reporters for Bayern Munich news this season. He was the first one with news of Carlo Ancelotti’s sacking, and he also reported the Jupp Heynckes hire and the Leon Goretzka signing before anyone else.
According to Falk, 3-4 weeks is the “deadline” for the manager to be announced. Here’s his tweet, you can expect a full fledged story on Sport Bild soon.
We can only guess as to who it’ll be, but it seems that one thing has become crystal clear. Jupp Heynckes is NOT going to be Bayern Munich’s manager next season, no matter how much Uli Hoeness has been asking — practically begging — him to stay on for another year. Bayern Munich will have a new manager next season.
The candidates are the usual: Thomas Tuchel, Julian Nagelsmann, and Niko Kovac. The impending announcement of the new manager also presumably puts Germany coach Joachim Loew out of contention, since he is still under contact with the DFB — unless it’s another Antonio Conte situation. Conte was hired by Chelsea before the Euros, and he left the Italian National Team after that tournament to take over. Another surprise candidate whose name has emerged in recent days is Christian Streich, manager of Freiburg.
All we know is this: Speculation about Bayern Munich’s next manger should soon come to an end.
