Corbo, an 18-year old who plays for the second division Spezia side, has call-ups to Italy’s u17 and u18 teams on his resume and has also been targeted by Arsenal as a player to watch. Corbo, who is also considered to be one of the bright young talents in Italy, recently was included on the list of 100 best Italian youngsters compiled by TuttoMercatoWeb as well.
Corbo, a Napoli native, was called up for an Italy u18 friendly with Serbia last August and has been on the radar of Gli Azzurri as one of its possible building blocks for the future. After failing to qualify for this summer’s World Cup, the Italian soccer developmental system has been under great scrutiny.
For Bayern, this would be a move with future implications rather an acquisition who would be an immediate contributor. A center-back by trade, Corbo has two goals across all competitions in the 2017-2018 season and is valued at 100,000 euros by Transfermarkt.
