Germany reveal new away kits for the 2018 World Cup

Spoiler alert; these kits are pretty mint!

Germany have officially revealed their new away kits that will be worn at this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia, and potentially in friendly matches leading up to the tournament. Some of the Die Mannschaft squad took part in a photo shoot at the team’s hotel in Dusseldorf ahead of their friendly against Spain on Friday at the ESPRIT arena.

Seen here, Thomas Muller, Timo Werner, Mesut Ozil, and Julian Draxler are modeling the new away kit, looking completely boss:

As per Die Mannschaft’s official Twitter account, the new set of kits are reminiscent of those from the 1980’s. As you can see, both the home and away kits combine the perfect balance of a vintage look with a very modern-looking twist. The away kit uniquely features the subtle off-green varying diagonal diamond patterns across the front of the kit; an homage to the away kit from 1988, when East and West Germany were two separate footballing federations.

Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos sat down for a brief interview to give their thoughts on the new away kits; and they’re both quite fond of it:
