According to an exclusive report by the Münchner Merkur, Real Madrid boss Florentino Pérez personally informed Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge that there is absolutely no truth to the recent story published by Mundo Deportivo, alleging that two meetings had taken place between Robert Lewandowski's new agent Pini Zahavi and José Ángel Sánchez and that a basic two-year agreement between the player and Real Madrid had been reached.

Pérez stated that there had not been any contact whatsoever between Lewandowski's agents and representatives of the Spanish club, let alone an agreement reached between them. Pérez added that signing the Polish international away from Bayern Munich was not up for debate at the moment. Bayern Munich can relax.

It was important for Pérez to take the unusual step of reaching out personally to Rummenigge so as to maintain the good relations that prevail between the two European heaviweights, despite their fierce competitiveness on the field in the Champions League.
