Bayern Munich draw Sevilla in the Champions League Quarter Finals

Well that certainly could’ve been worse.

After a pre-quarter showdown against Besiktas, Bayern Munich were looking forward to perceive their opponents for the Champions League Round of Eight with alacrity.

Die Roten, who are hoping to repeat their 2012/13 treble run under Jupp Heynckes, were drawn with Vincenzo Montella’s Sevilla by the ambassador of UCL final - Andriy Schevchenko. The Spanish side beat Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in the Round of 16 to reach the quarterfinals.

Among the seven teams who had qualified, Sevilla are a relatively easy opponent for the German champions, although Jupp Heynckes would not be easing off. One thing we know about the team from La Liga is that they are comfortable playing under pressure. That is what we had witnessed at Old Trafford when they beat Mourinho’s side 2-1 with their French striker Wissam Ben Yedder scoring a double.

The first leg will take place at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium on April 3rd and the return leg will be held on the 11th of April at the Allianz Arena.
