Besiktas vs Bayern Munich: Gamethread

Please, no injuries.

The UEFA Champions League is back, and this time Bayern Munich travel to Turkey to take on Besiktas! The result of the tie is more or less a foregone conclusion, with Bayern having already secured a 5-0 victory in Munich, but Jupp Heynckes will want his boys to give their all no matter what.

Besiktas will be missing both their starting center backs, with Domagoj Vida serving a suspension from the red card he received in the first leg, and Pepe still not being match-fit. Bayern meanwhile will be without the services of Arjen Robben, who suffered a pinched nerve in training and will not be risked. With both Robert Lewandowski and Joshua Kimmich a single yellow card away from suspension, Jupp Heynckes may opt to start Sandro Wagner and Rafinha in their stead. Despite this and the hostile nature of the stadium, the Bavarians will expect nothing less than a victory.

It’s Bayern time.

  1. If you’re a new member, feel free to introduce yourself. Don’t feel pressured or anything, we’re mostly very friendly. Also, we’re from all parts of the world so don’t feel shy if you’re from a country that doesn’t seem represented on the blog.
  2. Refresh the page regularly to keep up with the discussion. One refresh every 55-60 seconds is ideal but if that’s too much then just try for one every five minutes and after every goal.
  3. The goal celebrations are for everyone to participate in. Even if you’re lagging behind the others, keep replying to the most recent call of the player’s name. Even if you missed the first call, just start from the second, and so on.
