At least it’s not a fracture.

Corentin Tolisso, who came off the bench after the first half, had sustained a serious injury after involving in a collision with Hamburg’s Vasilije Janjicic on Saturday afternoon. Both the players suffered shin injuries, but Tolisso’s injury was serious enough that he had to be assisted off the field by medical staff.

But the injury is fortunately not as serious as some feared: “Corentin Tolisso suffered severe bruising to his right shin just above the ankle,” an official statement from Bayern Munich read.

“He is in a lot of pain”, said Jupp Heynckes and added that the French international would miss this week’s Champions League match against Besiktas. He will undergo intensive treatment under Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfhart.

As of now, no timescale has been set for his return but it is apparent that he is unfit for the match against Besiktas. The first leg ended up 5-0 in advantage of Bayern Munich. The team has nothing to worry about as they fly to Istanbul to face the Turkish champions in the second leg.
