These jerseys are going to be absolutely mint!

We’re right around that period in the year where new kit launches start to circulate, and the basic design concepts by Adidas for Bayern Munich’s 2018-2019 jerseys have been leaked. We’ve seen some fantastic Bayern kits throughout the years with incredible attention to detail that aim to combine pieces from retro kits with new, sleek ideas; an intrinsic balance between pride, tradition, and forward thinking.

Footy Headlines has posted the concepts and color schemes for the new kits on their web site, and they have a pretty decent track record with revealing kit leaks, especially for Bayern Munich. The official kit launch and unveiling for the home kit will be in May, and Bayern will sport it during their last match of the season against Vfb Stuttgart on May 12th. The away kit will likely be released at some point after this summer’s World Cup finals.

The home kit

The 2017-2018 home kit features vertical, bold white pin stripes across the front and top of the shoulders, bearing similarities to the 1991-1992 home kits that had subtle, off-white stripes going down the front and back of the jersey. For the 2018-2019 home kit, there’s [reportedly] going to be a diamond pattern throughout the front and back of the jersey in a slightly darker red shade than the main body of the jersey itself.

The away kit

Unlike away kits in season’s past, the design for Bayern’s 2018-2019 away kit is going to be something completely new, independent of any other jerseys that Bayern have previously sported. As opposed to this season’s predominantly navy blue kits, next season’s away kit will be mostly light grey, a darker shade than Bayern’s white third kit from last season.

Third kit

According to Footy Headlines Bayern’s third kit for 2018-2019 will partly revive the color scheme of the 1998-1999 squad that was defeated in the Champions League final by Manchester United.

Bonus: Adidas to release retro Bayern jersey

The kit leak also revealed that Adidas are preparing to launch a retro Bayern Munich jersey at some point in the near future. The jersey is designed to be a cumulative commemoration of Bayern’s kits throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s.
