RB Leipzig’s Yussuf Poulsen has a clear preference with who he would like to avoid when lining up against Bayern Munich and that player is Bavarian strongman, Niklas Süle.

In an interview with Sport1, the talented forward for Die Roten Bullen gave his insight on how effective Süle has become and indicated that Leipzig teammate Timo Werner would concur. When asked who he would prefer to play against, Poulsen was specific:

Ideally not against Süle, because he’s very strong one on one. I’ve played against him often enough, also back when he was still in Hoffenheim, I think he’s a very good center-back.

Poulsen explained that he would much prefer to play against Mats Hummels, whose “slow” pace makes him a better target for himself and teammate, Timo Werner:

I like to play against him the most, because then I can make an inside run behind his back. Then I have advantages in pace. I think my striker-partner Timo (Werner) would probably say the same thing. If you see Bayern pressing up high and you have a chance to make a run behind a center-back, you prefer to do it with one who is slower.

Poulsen pulled no punches in his assessment, which will sure catch the attention of Hummels and his Bayern teammates. The stakes will certainly raise just a bit more for the upcoming match on Wednesday, December 19th, which already looked like it was going to be a brawl.
