Just when you thought the Bayern Munich lineup could not get any more decimated by injuries, center back Mats Hummels became the latest Bavarian to succumb to the cruel intentions of the injury gods.
Per a tweet by the club, Hummels was bothered in warm-ups and will miss the Eintracht Frankfurt game due to a back injury.
.@matshummels muss wegen einer Gelenk-Blockade im Rücken das Aufwärmen abbrechen, für ihn rückt @JB17Official in die Startelf. Gute Genesung, Mats! #SGEFCB pic.twitter.com/Z9mvO191YM

Mats Hummels had to cancel his warm-up due to a joint blockage in his back. @JB17Official moves into the starting XI for him. We wish you a good recovery, Mats!
The move has thrust Jerome Boateng into the starting XI. Boateng’s own status, of course, was in question due to an ailment of his own that sidelined him earlier in the week.
The injury comes at a very unfortunate time for Hummels as he was working his way back into Niko Kovač’s center back rotation after battling an illness and falling into the coach’s doghouse for a few games.
Hummels turned in a very solid midweek performance against RB Leipzig, but will now start his winter break a bit earlier than expected.
Unfortunately, @matshummels has pulled up in the warm-up and will be replaced by @JB17Official #SGEFCB pic.twitter.com/nhJgjXF8UC
