There have been whispers for the better part of the last two years that Timo Werner would be looking to take his talents to Bayern Munich in the near future. Per a report by Bild, that time could be soon if Werner has his way.
Bild’s information states that Werner wants a move to Bavaria, but the topic has not reached the serious discussion stage between the two clubs. In addition, Bild states that Bayern’s front office did not think Werner was quite up to Bayern quality as of last summer.
According to Bild’s information, Werner is ready to transfer to Munich to take the next step in his career. However: the topic has never been discussed concretely. In the summer, the Munich bosses judged him to be not (yet) Bayern-like.
After an electric run of scoring in the Bundesliga, however, could the Bayern bosses be ready to raid RB Leipzig for its prized scorer?

When asked about the possibility of Werner eventually ending up in Bavaria, Niko Kovač did not want to go near the speculation.
Timo is a great player. He’s developed very well and is a known entity in the Bundesliga. As for what happens in the winter or in the summer, we’ll leave that aside for the time being.
How Werner would fit in with Bayern is another topic. Would he be a pure striker or could he be deployed on the wing?

Regardless, Werner’s deal with RB Leipzig runs through the 2020 season, which would make him a prime candidate for a sale or an extension either during this winter transfer window or next summer.
After that, Leipzig could possibly face losing its most prized asset for free.
