The draw results are in, and Bayern Munich will face Liverpool FC in the Champions League Round of 16. This was probably the worst possible draw we could have gotten, and it came true in the end. Last year’s UCL runners-up will be our opponent come February, and Bayern will have to be ready for them.
There will be reunions to be had, such as Mats Hummels with his former coach, and Xherdan Shaqiri with his former team. Speaking of which, here’s Hummels’ reaction to the draw:

For Jurgen Klopp, this will be his best chance to get revenge for the final in 2013. Niko Kovac will have his work cut out for him — Liverpool have an incredible squad that has gelled together after several years of playing together. Stars like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino are all expected to line up for the Reds. It will take everything Bayern has to stop them.
The tie is complicated for both teams — for Bayern, Thomas Muller could miss at least one game, while Liverpool’s Virgil van Djik will miss the first leg due to a yellow card suspension. These suspensions may prove key to deciding the tie.
The games will be played in February. As of yet, the dates haven’t been confirmed. We’ll update this space as soon as we know more. Here’s the full list of matchups:

First leg: 19 February 2019 at Anfield.
Second leg: 13 March 2019 at Allianz Arena.
That’s some good news at least. A second leg in Anfield would have been devastating for Bayern.
