Bayern Munich is never one to miss an opportunity to drive additional revenue, so the club has launched its brand shop on Amazon. The Bayern brand shop will provide another easy line of access to club merchandise. To start, the brand shop is only available in Germany.
Jörg Wacker, Executive Board member for Internationalization and Strategy, was happy to give fans another avenue to find Bayern paraphernalia and merchandise.
Our goal is to be present where our fans are. The Amazon marketplace is very important for eCommerce in Germany. Online marketplaces play an important role in our merchandising strategy.
As of now, Bayern has roughly 100 products available within its brand shop on Amazon. Per the release from FCBayern.com, the highlight of the product range is a “special back-of-shirt flock print with the signatures of selected players or the signatures of the entire team for the current season.”
The club expects this move to Amazon will be beneficial on a number of levels and will offer another platform for online shopping that already includes the FC Bayern online shop, the Chinese online shop on Tmall Global, and numerous distributors, product re-sellers, and sales channel partners online.
