Barca wants to make a move on Joshua Kimmich (Sports Mole)

FC Barcelona is rumored to want to make a move for Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich. Always looking to enhance its arsenal, Kimmich would provide a boost at outside-back for Barcelona with his ability to cross, make overlapping runs, and contribute offensively.

Barcelona are reportedly preparing a move for Bayern Munich full-back Joshua Kimmich. Kimmich, 23, joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2015, and has since made 139 appearances in all competitions for the German champions, scoring 15 times and registering 25 assists in the process. Kimmich has won three Bundesliga titles during his time at the Allianz Arena, meanwhile, and is also a 36-time Germany international, having become a feature of the national team since 2016.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona want to sign Kimmich in next summer’s transfer window, and are confident of turning the defender’s head. Barcelona, who are also currently being linked with a move for Chelsea’s David Luiz, have won each of their last five matches in all competitions.

Bizarre and likely nonsense rumor out of Spain gives info on James Rodriguez (The Daily Express)

Among all of the insanity and rumors swirling around the future of James Rodriguez, this one might be the nuttiest:

Spanish website Ok Diario say Real Madrid are prepared to recall Rodriguez in January should Kovac remain in charge. For now, Bayern are sticking with the Croatian, who they enticed away from Eintracht Frankfurt back in the summer.

Okay, go on:

Rodriguez has started just seven of Bayern’s 16 matches this season. And Ok Diario say that, with Real Madrid stuck in a rut, they want him back at the Bernabeu. However, should Kovac be sacked, that would hurt their efforts to recall him. Real’s need for more attacking stardust is evident for all to see. The La Liga giants miss Ronaldo, who quit for Juventus in a £105million transfer back in the summer.

So let me get this straight...if Kovac stays, Rodriguez goes? Okay then.

Listen, there are a million holes in this nonsense, but Spanish-media-gonna-go-Spanish-media when we let them. James may go...Kovac may get sacked...the two will be completely unrelated.

FC Bayern Frauen earn a draw this weekend (@FCBfrauen)

Mandy Islacker gave the Frauen a first half lead, but SC Sand batted back to force a draw in the second half.

The Frauen are still in great form within the league and should be poised to make a run at the very powerful Wolfsburg ladies, who have been dominant.

A call for fan groups (BavarianFootballWorks.com)

We are trying something here at the Daily Schmankerl and need YOUR help. If you read my man Tommy Adams’ piece about his experience with the FCBNYC Fan Club (if you haven’t, SHAME ON YOU!), you could see how great the event was. So we want to highlight some of these wonderful groups that are out there globally and this is what we need from you:

  • Name of the group
  • Location
  • Year founded
  • Leadership (if you have people are kind of running the show)
  • Meeting place
  • Social media handles
  • Pictures

We want to be able to feature a different fan group every week this season. Maybe we can do it, maybe not...but only YOU can help decide the fate of this idea. Send your info to: barrelsportsblog@gmail.com
