How will Bayern Munich lineup against Fortuna Düsseldorf?

With so many injuries, Niko Kovac could get creative against one of the league’s cellar dwellers...

It seems like ages ago, but when we last saw Bayern Munich, the squad was coughing up a lead to Borussia Dortmund in a losing Der Klassiker effort.

That, however, is old news.

It’s time for a fresh start and Niko Kovač will be looking to get back on the winning track against an often hapless Fortuna Düsseldorf side.

Team News

The injury situation with Die Roten has not really gotten much better as it pertains to this game. Corentin Tolisso, as we all know, is out for the season with a torn ACL. Kingsley Coman is still working on a comeback from his ankle injury, and has made great progress. There is a chance we could see him again very soon. The same goes for Thiago Alcantara, who is working his way back from an ankle injury as well. James Rodriguez is also out as he is reportedly back in Madrid recovering from a knee injury.

Arjen Robben is questionable for the game with a knee ailment, while Robert Lewandowski appears to have shaken off his own knee issue in time for the Düsseldorf fixture.

How Kovač handles his rotation for this game will be interesting. In what would normally appear to be a game where there would be a lot of changes, Bayern could roll out a star-studded lineup to ensure that it takes care of business.

Anyway, here are our predicted lineups for Mainz vs Bayern Munich:
