Per a report by kicker, Bayern Munich may have moved on from thinking about long-term plans with James Rodriguez. In addition, the Bavarians are allegedly keeping a close eye on Eintracht Frankfurt’s 20-year old Serbian scorer, Luka Jović.

Bayern is planning the “second” upheaval. A summer newcomer is already certain, another could be the Bundesliga top scorer. And with James, the signs are currently on leaving.

In the 2: 3 loss in Dortmund Bayern lacked pace and “ten percent will to assertiveness” (Uli Hoeneß). The defeat in the top match was a reflection of the things the record champions miss this season. That’s why the change should take place at the latest in the summer, in the winter already comes the Canadian top talent Alphonso Davies (18).

For 35 million euros, the Munich from 2019/20 the services of World Champion Benjamin Pavard (22) could be secured. Before the current season, the names Kevin Vogt (27) and Ante Rebic (25) were discussed, but now Rebic’s teammate Luka Jovic (20) in the spotlight. But the current Bundesliga Toptorjäger (9 goals) is also drawing attention from major clubs in Spain and England.

President and Supervisory Board Chairman Hoeneß has already announced that the “team face” will be “pretty” changed this summer. This will probably be needed to the 200 million euros. This does not take into account the 42 million, for which, James could be firmly committed by Real Madrid - this is currently unlikely.

BFW Analysis

Given the recent turmoil surrounding James, it would not be shocking if Bayern returned him to Real Madrid or even purchased him (as is their right) and then immediately sold him off. Bayern truly holds the cards in the situation.

That said, it is just a rumor at this point. The situation could evolve in any number of directions from now until the summer, especially if Bayern is truly divided on how to proceed internally during the winter transfer window.

Jović is considered one of the brightest up-and-coming players in the Bundesliga and has has nine goals in the league and three in cup competitions this season. Jović has also been targeted by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur (among others) and should he continue to produce, the Serbian will only gain further popularity.
