This was pretty cool...(@DFB_Team_EN)

Imagine you are just a wee lad or lass and going through your normal practice regimen for soccer, when you see the likes of Thomas Muller, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Sebastian Rudy, and others just walk up to your pitch ready to play.

The kids in the video below, had just that happen:

Bayern allegedly interested in AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas (Calciomercato)

Bayern could be interested in Greek defender defender Kostas Manolas per a report out of Italy:

Kostas Manolas is one of the most demanded players at Roma. Bayern Munich and Juventus are interested in the Greek defender, who is under contract with the club from the capital until June 2022. The centre-back earns 2.7 million euros net per season and has a release clause set at 36 million euros.

According to Corriere dello Sport, however, the Giallorossi sporting director Monchi does not want to sell his gem and is at work to arm the player with a new contract that would not include the set release clause.

Manolas has collected 13 appearances so far this season for Roma, scoring 2 goals in all competitions. Over the course of his career at the club, he has appeared in 184 matches, scoring 8 goals. The 27-year-old is also a regular for the Greek national team, having collected 38 caps and scoring one goal since his debut in 2013.

Milan Škriniar in talks to extend deal with Inter (Read Bundesliga)

It looks like one very talented defender may be off the market before Bayern can make a move.

Milan Škriniar’s agent has delivered a huge blow to both Bayern Munich and Manchester United by confirming contract talks with Inter are underway. Both Bayern and United have been heavily linked with a move to sign the Slovakian defender, who has been impressing in Serie A. His performances for Inter have caught the eye around Europe and both clubs had been touted as potential destinations. Inter have been desperate to get the player tied down to an improved deal following the suggestions that he could be on the move.

Škriniar’s agent Karol Csonto confirmed that talks are heating up:

We’re talking about a new deal. We’re working on it. It’s a subject we’ll be facing more intensively over the next few months.

A call for fan groups (BavarianFootballWorks.com)

We are trying something here at the Daily Schmankerl and need YOUR help. If you read my man Tommy Adams’ piece about his experience with the FCBNYC Fan Club (if you haven’t, SHAME ON YOU!), you could see how great the event was. So we want to highlight some of these wonderful groups that are out there globally and this is what we need from you:

  • Name of the group
  • Location
  • Year founded
  • Leadership (if you have people are kind of running the show)
  • Meeting place
  • Social media handles
  • Pictures

We want to be able to feature a different fan group every week this season. Maybe we can do it, maybe not...but only YOU can help decide the fate of this idea. Send your info to: barrelsportsblog@gmail.com
