Bayern Munich U19 center back Chris Richards has been called up to join the United States U20 squad. Richards, who is on loan from FC Dallas, has been impressive during his stint in Bavaria. Per a report from The Dallas Morning News, Richards will have some familiar faces with him in camp, including some from FC Dallas and from Europe:
Richards will be joining fellow FC Dallas players Brandon Servania and Paxton Pomykal who have been with the U20s during the opening rounds. Ajax’s Sergino Dest and Hannover’s Sebastian Soto were also added.
After sweeping Group A play, the U20s face Costa Rica on Friday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. CT and Honduras on Monday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. CT at IMG Academy Stadium in Bradenton, Fla. Both will be broadcasted on Univision Deportes Network.
Richards, who played for Texans Soccer Club before moving to FC Dallas and ultimately going on loan to Bayern, is considered one of the brightest young defensive prospects in the United States.
