Juventus seems intent on at least making an attempt to acquire James Rodriguez. The Serie A giant could make an offer in January or July per reports out of Germany and Italy.

Calciomercato broke down the potential plan to reunite James with his old Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo:

SportBild is reporting that Juventus are serious about their interest in James Rodriguez; with the Colombian reportedly wanting to leave Bayern Munich in January – to return to La Liga or secure a move elsewhere. James Rodriguez has reportedly been offered to Juventus on more than one occasion, with the Bianconeri possibly planning to utilize Jorge Mendes in a similar way to with the Cristiano Ronaldo deal. Mendes is James’ agent, having helped Juve sign both Joao Cancelo and Ronaldo during the summer.

Bringing in James, would likely require The Old Lady to make some moves to facilitate a financially viable roster.

Juventus may choose to offload attacking options if they want to sign James Rodriguez; with a current overcrowding up top and the likes of Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado, Mario Mandzukic, Federico Bernardeschi and Douglas Costa all fighting for a place in the starting XI.

SportBild offered even more insight as to what is going on, as it appears that James’ agent, Jorge Mendes, would like to discuss the Colombian’s future soon.

According to Sport Bild’s information, the representatives of the ex-Real start want to speak with the management at Bayern in December at the latest.

The bigger question is if James genuinely wants to leave Bavaria or if he would extend his stay. Should James indicate he wants out; the Colombian will have no shortage of suitors:

Staying in Munich is by no means self-evident for James and his agent Jorge Mendes. He allegedly already indicated to the Bayern front office over the winter that there are lucrative offers for James, including offers from Juventus Turin and from England. Word from James’ camp is that an exit in the summer is definitely conceivable. Even a departure in January has been brought up for discussion; but this is inconceivable from Bayern’s point of view, even if they could cash in on a high transfer fee.
