Arjen Robben praises Serge Gnabry, his new workout buddy

Seems like Kovac is doing exactly what people have been asking him by giving Serge Gnabry more playing time.

Bayern Munich's match-winning goals in Athens came from Robert Lewandowski and Javi Martinez, but many observers liked Serge Gnabry's performance even better. The German international started on the left wing and played for 73 minutes. Even though he couldn't convert his final touches into goals, the youngster's performance was still impressive.

Hasan Salihamidzic praised Gnabry’s effort on the left wing as follows:

He was a bright spot. He lit things up on the left side.

Gnabry is one of the most hardworking players in the team and for someone like him, it's always special to be included in the starting XI. Gnabry remarked,

The most important thing is that I can help the team. I’m trying to keep working on myself.

For the first time in eight years, Thomas Müller wasn't included in the starting XI for two consecutive matches. While Müller himself emphasized he is happy to do what’s best for the team, Gnabry asserted his own value when asked about Müller:

When I don’t start, a top-class player is also sitting on the bench.

That could be Just like almost everyone else in the team, Arjen Robben is full of praise for Gnabry. The Dutchman views Gnabry as a very diligent professional:

I like the young man. I now have a friend in the fitness room. He’s also always there. Very diligent! He always wants to work on himself, has a very good attitude, is a real professional.
