Paris Saint-Germain has its eyes on World Cup winner Corentin Tolisso (10 Sport)
Bayern Munich’s injured midfielder might be out of action for a while as he recovers from torn knee ligaments, but that has not slowed down the interest from other clubs. Paris Saint-Germain is rumored to want the 24-year-old.
Having failed to sign any midfielders mentioned in the press during the summer transfer window at Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi is poised to move on Corentin Tolisso for next summer.
According to information revealed by Calciomercato.com, Paris Saint-Germain would be very interested in Corentin Tolisso. The Parisian management would even consider launching a pursuit of the world champion member of the French national team, currently under contract until the summer of 2022 with Bayern Munich.
It’s probably unlikely that Bayern has the appetite to sell off Tolisso any time soon. Considering how big of a spender that PSG has proven to be, it would be interesting to at least hear what insane money they might be willing to throw at Bayern for Tolisso, even if there’s no clear intention to sell.
When healthy, Tolisso has certainly looked like a building block for Bayern’s future.
Tolisso disagreed with Bayern on surgery strategy (Sport Bild)
Tolisso was not necessary onboard with where his surgery was performed, but he complied with the club’s request.
In mid-September, Corentin Tolisso (24) suffered a cruciate ligament and meniscal tear in his right knee against Leverkusen (3:1). Many assumed that the world champion would then — like captain Manuel Neuer (32) — be operated on in Tübingen by Prof. Dr. Ulrich Stöckle. That’s not true!
BILD learned: Tolisso was operated on in secret at Tyrol Kliniken in Innsbruck. According to BILD’s information, the midfielder originally was against it. His preference was to be operated on in Paris.
Juventus reportedly wants Christian Pulisic (Calciomercato)
Borussia Dortmund man and possible Bayern target Christian Pulisic has Italian eyes on him as Juventus is looking for some additional support around Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite Giuseppe Marotta stepping down from his position at Juventus, the Bianconeri’s transfer activity is definitely not over, and the Italian champions are still looking at various options to improve an already very strong team. According to the Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, Christian Pulisic is on Juventus’ wish list. The American offensive talent is reportedly under the magnifying glass of Fabio Paratici and his scouts. The player’s contract with Borussia Dortmund expires in June 2020.
Our advice to Pulisic: Don’t let all of that German you learned go to waste!

21-year old Argentine winger says he would prefer Arsenal over Bayern (Daily Cannon)
Matias Vargas, who plays for Velez Sarsfield in Argentina, took to Argentinian television to say he would prefer to play for Arsenal over the likes of Bayern, Real Madrid, Juventus, PSG, and Liverpool.
21-year-old Argentine winger Matias Vargas says he’d join Arsenal over the likes of Bayern Munich, PSG, Real Madrid and more. Appearing on a TV show in Argentina, Vargas was asked which club he’d prefer to join: Bayern, Juventus, Real Madrid, PSG or Liverpool. The forward simply responded “The Arsenal.”
When pressed for his reasoning, Vargas explained that his father influenced him to follow the Gunners. He likes the identity Arsenal has and reportedly Manchester United goalkeeper and fellow Argentine Sergio Romero told him there’s a beautiful atmosphere at the club.
Considering we had not heard Vargas’ name attached to Bayern prior to this, we’d like to respond with a simple, “Thanks man.”

A call for fan groups (BavarianFootballWorks.com)
We are trying something here at the Daily Schmankerl and need YOUR help. If you read my man Tommy Adams’ piece about his experience with the FCBNYC Fan Club (if you haven’t, SHAME ON YOU!), you could see how great the event was. So we want to highlight some of these wonderful groups that are out there globally and this is what we need from you:
- Name of the group
- Location
- Year founded
- Leadership (if you have people are kind of running the show)
- Meeting place
- Social media handles
- Pictures
We have 7 clubs on board so far. I’d LOVE to be able to feature a different fan group every week this season. Maybe we can do it, maybe not...but only YOU can help decide the fate of this idea. Send your info to: barrelsportsblog@gmail.com.
