Besiktas JK will soon sell their best goalscorer this season, German-Turkish player Cenk Tosun to Everton FC for the astounding sum of €30 million (kicker). Besiktas will thus lose their primary offensive player before their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich in late February and March.
Everton coach Sam Allardyce confirmed on Thursday that the two clubs had reached an agreement about the transfer fee. All that remains for Everton to do is negotiate with Tosun himself. These negotiations were supposedly already “in the final phase.” Besiktas’s president Fikret Orman likewise confirmed the news. According to him, “The end is nigh.”

Tosun has been Besiktas’s best scorer in both the Champions League and the Turkish Süper Lig. The center forward has scored four goals and served two assists in the Champions League, and eight goals and one assist domestically.
Born in Wezlar, Germany, Tosun emerged from the youth academy of Eintracht Frankfurt. Eintracht sold him for €500,000 in 2011. It is a sign of the times, and of the wealth of the Premier League, that Everton is buying him for sixty times that amount. Whether Besiktas can replace Tosun's production with that money is another question.
