The American has been lighting up the Bundesliga for some time now.

According to Sport Bild, Bayern Munich could be one of the clubs in the running to make a proposal for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic. Per the report, Bayern may be competing with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool for the talented American, who has established himself over the past two years as one of the most dangerous wingers in the Bundesliga.

Sport Bild does not cite specific sources within the Bayern management team, but Pulisic fits the mold of a next-generation replacement for the historic, but aging, wing combination of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, both of whom are without a contract for next season.

Pulisic’s speed, technical skills, and ability to create offense fit the framework of Bayern’s style of play and the expectations placed on its wingers. If Bayern make a bid for Pulisic, Bayern may have an uphill battle to secure him, given comments he made about going to Bayern last summer to

No, that I could not do, I can’t say that, but nah.

Pulisic, who grew up as a Premier League—and specifically a Manchester United—fan, also told PennLive that his youthful club allegiance would not bear on his decision about what is best for his future:

Nah, I mean when I was little I wanted to play in the Premier League, but now that I’m in the Bundesliga I’m not planning on a move because that’s what I want to do. I’m really happy there and I’m just kind of going with the flow and I’m happy with it.

In addition, Pulisic has no shortage of support from at least one Bayern luminary. Back in November, after Bayern’s 3-1 dismantling of Dortmund, Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus readily endorsed Pulisic to ESPN as a perfect fit to wear Bayern red in the near future.
