Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti highlighted a lack of focus in his side following a 2-0 loss to Hoffenheim on Saturday. The German champions came out with incredibly lackluster performance. Maintaining 72 percent of the possession and failing to score a single goal. Ancelotti believes that this was due to a lack of focus from his side.
"Little details decided the game, for the first goal we weren't focussed and conceded a second goal immediately in the second half. It was difficult then but we had a lot of chances.
"We controlled the game but didn't score while Hoffenheim were three times in our box and scored two goals," he said.
"In general, we played well but we weren't at 100 percent -- 95 percent wasn't enough, but that happens in football and we have to focus on the next game."

Honest quotes from Ancelotti will serve him well in tough losses this season. Bayern are still coming into form, and Ancelotti giving a seemingly honest perspective on each game could serve him well in his taking time to mold Bayern into top form.
The concerning part of the quotes is relating to Bayern’s focus. One would hope that of all the problems that Bayern have on the pitch, focus wouldn’t be one of them. There are a plethora of other problems that Bayern have been displaying, even in wins, including their converting of possessions into positive goal scoring opportunities.
Bayern’s captain Manuel Neuer echoed Ancelotti’s honest sentiments after the game, including details about the first goal from Hoffenheim.
"We began the game very well and had Hoffenheim totally under control. We had a few chances and should have taken the lead.”
Commenting on the opening goal: "It all happened very quickly but basically we weren't a man down and weren't ideally positioned.
"That was our mistake and did not have anything to do with the second ball; you simply have to win the challenge. Then Uth doesn't connect perfectly with his shot and the ball goes in at the near post.
"I don't really want to talk about the time after. We had Hoffenheim completely under control and should have taken the lead here. That's the problem."

The entirety of the quotes from Neuer are somewhat interesting, but what jumps out is the last paragraph. Neuer realizes, as we all do, that the execution on offense was the main problem for Bayern Munich on Saturday.
Both men realize the immense importance of this season for Bayern Munich. Honesty and the realization of their team’s problems is an important step in Bayern coming into the best version of themselves this season.
