As the worst preseason campaign in recent memory draws to a close, Bayern Munich gear up to face German rivals Borussia Dortmund in front of the fearsome yellow wall at the Signal Iduna Park.
The game comes at a difficult time for the Bavarians. Reeling from injuries to several key players, Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti will be without the services of Arjen Robben, Jerome Boateng, David Alaba, Manuel Neuer, Thiago Alcantara, James Rodriguez, and Juan Bernat. Despite this, the coach will be expected to field a strong XI, Bayern having high quality backups for all the key positions - except for LB, where youngster Marco Friedl is expected to fill-in for for his injured seniors. The game will be tough, but these one-offs are the kind of games that Carlo Ancelotti was brought in to win.
It’s Bayern time.
Location: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, Germany
