Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga rivals, Hertha Berlin, took a humorous dig at the German champions’ less than stellar results in the International Champions Cup — aka Audi Summer Tour 2017 — against Italian competition.
After easily beating a local Bezirksliga team — eighth division! — called Club Italia 80, a Berlin team founded by Italian immigrants, the social media department of Hertha tweeted out the following:
Guckst du, lieber @FCBayern. So gewinnt man Testspiele gegen italienische Mannschaften in der Vorbereitung. #BSCCIT #hahohe pic.twitter.com/C52d47LmWP

Translation:
Lookie here, dear @FCBayern. This is how you win friendlies in the preseason against Italian teams.
Cheeky little Hertha! Of course, this was totally tongue-in-cheek, but you have to imagine revenge will be taken by Bayern Munich’s active and very funny social media crew, at the latest when the two teams meet on matchday seven, at the end of September.
(Twitter) game on!
